Managing Todos with LogSeq

In a previous post, I explained why I stopped using Things3 for managing personal tasks (I call them to-do lists) and successfully switched to using Logseq, my note-taking and journaling tool. In this brief tutorial, I'll show you how to use Logseq not just for note-taking, but also for managing lists, including tasks and to-dos.

Let's jump in

I create a page called Blog Post Ideas - this becomes my list.

Each item is a topic (these are just examples).

Under each of the items, I can drill down and add my notes and images related to this item for what to talk about.

In the example below, I have added an image and a few bullet points for the article title: Ethical Considerations in Deploying Self

Now going back to my Journal

Now, if I want to start actually planning this blog post for the day. I can simply reference the blog post above from the list in my daily journal by creating a block reference like this:

And for other list types

I started doing that not only for blog post ideas but actually for everything else, like things to try(I love trying new stuff, so I have a huge list just for that), business ideastravel destinations to (here is also just an example).

If you are like me and need a single pane of glass of all to Todos you have, you can the Todo plugin

It displays all Todos throughout your entire graph, allowing you to either jump to the task or mark it as complete or incomplete. I found it very helpful.

That's it:)

What I have shown in this tutorial is just scratching the surface of what you can do with todos when they are fully integrated with LogSeq. You can now link them to Journal, search with AI, link to notes or documents (such as brainstorming ideas) and much more.
