I built a Claude AI routine to monitor websites that don't have APIs
Getting an AI to look something up on a website is pretty easy these days.
But getting it to do that every morning, on its own, on a page that only shows up when you're logged in, is a different story.
That's exactly what I wanted. Every morning, a list of today's Meetup events with at least 10 attendees, waiting for me in Notion. No tab-hopping, no scrolling, no forgetting.

The whole setup on one page. You touch it once. The routine does the rest every morning.
Why this matters
Think about where the information you actually care about lives.
Not on public pages. Behind logins. In your feed, your account, your dashboard. And most of those places have no API.
That's exactly the data AI agents usually can't touch. Either you hand them your password (please don't), or they stay outside.
This setup changes that:
- you log in once, yourself, and the AI never sees your password
- it runs every day while your laptop is closed, in Anthropic's cloud
- the API key never appears in a prompt or in the chat
- it works on any site you can open in a browser, API or not
Meetup is just the first example. The same recipe works for a lot more:
- Job and freelance portals: every morning, the new projects that match your saved search
- Apartment hunting: new listings from your saved searches, before everyone else calls
- Supplier and wholesale portals: member-only prices and stock, so you notice when something drops
- Dashboards without an export: a daily snapshot of numbers a tool only shows you in the browser
- Course and school portals: new announcements and deadlines, collected in one place
- Communities and forums you're a member of: new posts in the threads you follow, summarized
Same recipe every time: a cloud browser that holds your login, a script that reads the page, a schedule.
And here is what that actually looks like, starting with Meetup and the naive way.
