Access OpenAI o1 without ANY subscription

OpenAI has just released an absolutely amazing model, OpenAI 01, which is the best thing to happen to AI since sliced bread! However, there is a catch! Unlike the GPT-4 family, access to this model is not free. The only downside is that you need a subscription to access it, which costs just $20 per month as of today.
If you don’t have a subscription but still want to access this amazing model, I’ve got great news for you! You can easily access it on the OpenAI platform without any subscription.

So let’s do it.

Step 1: Sign Up for API-Based Access

If you have an API key, then you already have half the solution and you can skip directly to Step 2.

Sign up for an API-based access. What this means in a nutshell: You pay per use. If you consume 1 million input tokens, approximately 750 thousand words input, you pay for the O1 mini approximately $3. The output tokens cost a bit more, but this is the order of magnitude we are talking about. Pretty much affordable for anyone.

Navigate to OpenAI Organization General Settings and sign up.

Now that you have signed up and have some credit in your account, you can start using any model, including o1-preview and o1-mini.
